How to use this tool

  1. Open a file, paste Markdown, or choose New document to start in Split view.
  2. Write in the syntax highlighted editor; use the formatting toolbar, search, and Ctrl or ⌘ shortcuts.
  3. Save the file, download Markdown, export HTML or PDF, or copy rich text for Docs and email.

Why use MD Glide?

The same CodeMirror editor and document workspace as the extension: source-aware scroll sync, eight themes, typography, custom CSS, folding, saved highlights, and a command palette. Edits stay in memory until saved or downloaded; auto-save writes only to a file you have granted access to.

Limits and compatibility

This is a single document workspace. Settings, custom CSS, and saved highlights are local to this browser, rather than synced through a Chrome profile. It does not provide cloud collaboration or repository publishing. Clearing site storage removes saved preferences, highlights, and recent-file handles.

Privacy and your files

Document contents are processed in this browser. We do not upload your text to a conversion service. Reader images are blocked unless enabled. Download a copy before closing the tab; saved highlights and notes use local storage, recent-file handles use IndexedDB, and tool handoffs temporarily use session storage.
