How to use this tool

  1. Paste text that should appear literally.
  2. Review the backslash escaped result.
  3. Copy it into a Markdown document and preview in the destination.

Why use MD Glide?

Escaping makes punctuation visible instead of letting it accidentally become headings, emphasis, links, or lists. The source and result stay side by side.

Limits and compatibility

This escapes Markdown punctuation broadly. Running already escaped text through it again adds more backslashes. Context specific needs, such as table cells and code fences, may require a different approach.

Privacy and your files

Document contents are processed in this browser. We do not upload your text to a conversion service. Reader images are blocked unless enabled. Download a copy before closing the tab; saved highlights and notes use local storage, recent-file handles use IndexedDB, and tool handoffs temporarily use session storage.
